Publishing resource: Duotrope’s Digest

I haven’t had a chance to fully check it out for myself, but this looks like a cool place to find ideas for where to submit your writing: Duotrope’s Digest, “a database of over 2050 current markets for short fiction, poetry, and novels/collections.”

Check it out and tell me what you think. I’ll do the same …

I’ve been slowly making my way through this site, and it seems pretty decent. There are a lot of sites that I haven’t seen before, and some are even interesting. Of course, the odds on getting published would go way up if I decided to write a story about lesbian vampires in a post-apocalyptical earth that has just been swallowed up by an alternate dimension, but I think that goes without saying on the internet publishing scene.

Maybe I just need to broaden my horizons.

I have been using Duotrope.com for a while now (six months, give or take) and have had pretty good luck with it. I like the fact that they will keep track of your submissions for you. I know it is a free site but I still like to throw them a couple of bucks every time I make a sale.
