Check Your Font

Slate asked some writers what font they preferred. The winner seems to be Courier.

So that’s why I’m not a best-selling writer yet! Stupid Times New Roman…

I have to write prose in Times. If I use Courier, I instinctively start writing everything in screenplay format.

Sometimes, when I’m bored, I’ll use webdings and write in morse code.

I prefer to write in san serif fonts like Helvetica or arial. Apparently, this is not cool. Something about serifs makes me feel like I am doing work instead of being creative. Blame it on working at a newspaper.
